Thoughts on this:
A team getting a SO in H2H gains in all four G scoring categories: W, Sv%, GAA, and SO.
One shutout can affect the H2H outcome for the week.
It is possible for a team to win the H2H matchup while losing all 4 G stat cats, but very difficult. You would have to win 6 of 7 skater stat cats to do it.
I see SO as a nice lottery win during H2H, but this can be unfair. A G getting a SO might have faced 18 shots. The G at the other end might have faced 44 shots in the loss, but the team mgr gains nothing in H2H as we don't count Shots Against.
I suggest we redress this by changing SO to Shots Against. (Actually in Yahoo I think it is: Saves.)
It would make for more balance between skaters/goalies scoring and with that a more competitive league. Starting G on poor NHL teams will be a little more valuable in H2H.
It has to be one stat or the other, in my view.
If we keep SO but also add Saves it will tip the skater/goalie scoring balance too much in favour of goalies.
VOTING
It will require at least 7 votes to carry -- meaning there will be no rule change unless more that half of the guys in the league want it.
Note: The rules/settings are identical in all three leagues -- many guys are in 2 or 3 so that helps. I am hoping mgrs in all 3 leagues vote for this change -- but each league votes independently so lets see how it goes.
Pls vote guys ...
Tks, Norm

A clear majority of mgrs want to make this change.
We will use Saves rather than Shutouts as a goalie stat category in the league next season.
Good stuff ... I think it will make H2H a whole lot more interesting as far as decisions on goalie starts .... and Saves is a more active stat than shutouts.
And as I noted it gives us a better scoring balance between skaters/goalies ... and that makes the league even more competitive.
Tks for voting guys.
I am looking forward to next season already ....
